“When we first started talking about renovating our house we talked to a local architect who appeared not to listen to anything we said! We were then recommended JMA by our neighbour who works in the same building. We found Josh’s approach very refreshing as he asked us what we wanted to do with the space we had.

We discussed what we considered to be must haves, important, desirable etc and then went through several options relating to budget and approximate costs and ultimately what we could achieve within these constraints. The design and approval process took us roughly one year - this was primarily due to neighbour concerns which sent us back to the drawing board on several occasions.  Throughout this process JMA dealt with all concerns and complaints in a professional manner.

The build phase of our project was 9 months.  During this phase JMA were onsite weekly and quick to respond to any issues raised by the builders or us.  All queries and agreements made were documented and managed closely - extremely important with a build the size of ours.  

Amazingly - the project was delivered on time and on budget! Josh and JMA team have created a striking design in a house with plenty of open space, mod cons and environmentally friendly features which we are very happy with. We have and will continue to recommend JMA as an architect who can listen, adapt and deliver without letting any of the expected or unexpected project problems get in the way.

“I would be more than happy to recommend JoshuaMuldersArchitects. Prior to renovation my house was a fairly standard semi detached residence with no connection to the garden at the rear and no room for entertaining. There was little natural light and an assortment of additions to the rear, which were not an efficient use of the limited space. It was also lacking a bath which was one of the main motivations for the renovation.

The brief was to provide a ‘lighter’ space whilst also providing additional living space and more efficient storage solutions and, of course, a bath.

The planning stage proved to be trouble free and any approval issues that arose were handled by Joshua and his team. His ideas were innovative and he was open to my ideas and suggestions. The unexpected addition of an internal laundry proved a welcome surprise – one that I now wouldn’t do without. I found him to be readily available to answer my enquiries, both during the planning and construction phases. His rapport with the builders enabled the construction to be relatively hassle free and any problems encountered along the way were always presented to me with good humour and an alternative solution.

With the inclusion of more light, space and storage my residence now feels like a home that will stand the test of time. I can’t imagine how the final product could better suit my needs and would have no hesitation in recommending Joshua and his team for similar projects.”
